This video takes a look at fragmentation using ballistics gel and a modified rain barrel.

 

Condors Eating Carrion

This video demonstrates condors eating large pieces of lungs pulled whole out of a cow carcass.  In this way condors could easily pick up lead bullet fragments scattered throughout the heart and lungs from gutpiles left in the field.

Bald Eagles with Lead Poisoning

The University of Minnesota Raptor Center treats a large number of bald eagles for lead poisoning every year following hunting season.  Many of these birds are so debilitated from the effects of lead poisoning that they have to be euthanized.
